Land records show that Wilson and Sarah owned land on the East Fork of Little Pigeon River, Tennessee in 1807. Wilson Maples was a Captain in the War of 1812. He was drafted at Sevierville, Tennessee, in November 1814. He was Captain of 5th Regiment of East Tennessee Militia Infantry. Records state that he was discharged because of sickness, but papers of others in the family record Wilson Maples was wounded. Wilson died in 1815. His widow, Sarah, received pension and bounty land.
